Flexing Your Mental Health Muscles

Normally when you hear of Mental Health, the topic is all about Mental Illness - Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Addiction, etc...

But Mental Health is more than just the absence of mental illness. There are components of mental health that can be developed. Just like physical health is more than just not being sick, it's healthy muscle mass, low body fat percentage, a healthy heart, eyes, liver, etc.

What are the components of Mental Health that can be developed?

😇Clarity of mind: clear thoughts and concrete focus.

😇Self compassion: Treat yourself kindly, talking to yourself in a positive, encouraging way (where no one else can hear.)

😇Self assurance: Knowing that you’ll be okay, regardless of life’s ups and downs.

​😇An attitude of optimism and gratitude toward all that you have.

😇​Taking positive action towards goals that enrich your life and those impacted by it.

​😇Identity & Values: Knowing who you are, what you stand for, what you say yes and no to

​😇Productive Habits

​😇Loving Self Talk

😇​The ability to forgive yourself and others.

😇​Satisfaction with your effort and knowing that you are enough, you are worthy, and you are deserving.

All of which can be deliberately improved and deserve time and energy. Invest a little time today and every day building your health. Don’t limit yourself to just avoiding illness.

All these components are your insurance and safeguard against Mental Illness.
